Gama Lima, Debora M., M.D.
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dr. Gama Lima emigrated to the United States to further pursue her medical studies. She completed a General Surgery Residency at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals of Cleveland and a Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Afterwards, she became Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons and worked in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona. Now retired from surgical practice, Dr. Gama Lima devotes her time to the development of a resiliency based education curriculum for high school students at the BASIS® School of Scottsdale. Married and raising her two children, she is proud of completing over twenty marathons and being named 2011 Arizona Parenting Magazine’s “Healthiest Family”.
