Khan, Shakila P., M.D.
Shakila Khan, MD is a board certified pediatric hematologist oncologist with additional board certification in Hospice and palliative medicine. She completed her medical training at Dow Medical College and her residency in Pediatrics at Civil Hospital in Pakistan. She subsequent finished a pediatric residency at Dartmouth Medical School followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology‐Oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She completed an additional fellowship in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Minnesota. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Director of the Pediatric BMT Program and Chair of Education for the Department of Pediatric and adolescent medicine. Dr. Khan started the pediatric palliative care program at Mayo in 2005 and was the director of the program till 2009. She is board certified in Hospice and palliative care. The palliative care program has evolved as the COMPASS care program which is a Comprehensive Pediatric and Adolescent Support Services Care Team and she is Associate director of the program.
