Laura Steinkraus is a second-year medical student at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, Michigan. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in 2005 with a degree in biology, and minors in Spanish and philosophy. A meeting with Dr. Sood in her first year of medical school convinced her that weaving mindfulness into the daily lives of medical students could indeed make for valuable research. Thus, she participated in the AIT course, and will be teaching its methods to first and second year medical students at her school. She is excited to share AIT with stressed -out fellow students. In her free time, Laura enjoys painting, lake walks, and intramural sports of all kinds.
