Traxler, Barbara J.
Barb Traxler comes from a large family of eight children and grew up in Mankato, MN. At the age of 16 her father died suddenly due to complications from surgery. This event impacted Barb to pursue a career in nursing – to provide care for others at their time of need. She graduated from Winona State University. Barb’s career in nursing has included positions in medical, surgical, transplant, intensive care and outpatient cardiac care areas within the Mayo Clinic hospitals in Rochester and Mankato. Barb currently works full-time in the emergency department at MCHS-Mankato Hospital and is the chairperson of the emergency department’s unit council. Her career has included numerous leadership positions. A personal interest led Barb to pursue spirituality interests in the areas of mindfulness stress reductions therapy; attention interpretation therapy and Ignatian spirituality. Barb lives in Mankato with her husband, Mark. Recently they just celebrated their 25th year of marriage. They are proud parents of three young adults.
